The Music Biz in 2009!

Official figures are in for the 2009 year in music. Overall sales are up by 2.1% on those of 2008, while album sales are down a massive 12.7%. Digital sales are up again and have managed to top over 1 billion songs. Taylor Swift comes in as the top selling artist of 2009 while Susan Boyle comes in at a close second. Mariah Carey Update!

Mariah Carey has been busy prepping the release of "Angels' Advocate", a remix album which will be released on 23 February. Both the "Angels Cry (Remix)" featuring Ne-Yo and the "Up Out My Face (Remix)" featuring Nicki Minaj have now surfaced. The tracks will serve as the first two singles from the album. The Return of Kelly Rowland!

My girl, Kelly Rowland is prepping her third studio album for release later this year. She recently gave an interview with a fan site about the album which you can watch below. There is also another video that rapper friend Nelly posted on his site which features him and Kelly in studio creating a track to try match "Dilemma's" success. To say I'm excited about this album is an understatement. I was listening to "Blaze" from her last album's studio sessions today and she just delivers time and time again.

Mariah preps "Angels' Advocate"!

Mariah Carey will release an official remixes album of "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel". The album has been titled, "Angels' Advocate" and will be released on 23 February. It features collaborations with Mary J. Blige, R. Kelly and Ne-Yo and is preceded by the singles, "Angels Cry (Remix)" and "Up Out My Face (Remix)". I'm quite excited to hear the tracks and I'll definitely be picking up my copy on 23 February, will you?

Toni Braxton - "Looking At Me"

Toni really did her thing on this track! I love hearing her voice on the uptempo and the hook is great. The track is kind of a mash up of "Get Loose" and "My Ring's Too Heavy (The Wave)" and it really works. I think it would serve as a great second single seeing as "Yesterday" has pretty much failed to impact any chart significantly. Bring on "Pulse"!
