New Music: Mariah Carey!

Although "Memoirs" only features production from Tricky Stewart and The Dream, Mariah Carey was also in the studio with hitmaker Timbaland before completing the sequencing of her latest album. We now have the fruits of those sessions in a track titled "Skydiving" which is featured on an upcoming mixtape. Listen to the song below and let me know what you think!

Mariah Not #1?

If predictions are anything to go by, things are not looking too good for Mariah Carey's new album, "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel". Early reports estimate the album will only sell a mere 170 000 records in the first week. That's a massive decline in sales compared to her previous album "E=MC2" which sold around 470 000 in the first week. It even looks as though the songstress will not hit the top spot with "Memoirs" and that Paramore will do so with their third studio album, "Brand New Eyes".

I'm truly disappointed to hear this. While "Memoirs" is no masterpiece, there are some great tracks on the album ("HATE U", "Up Out My Face"). I really feel that promotion was slack this time around and I'm hoping that given the release of a good single, the album will get a bit more recognition. What do you think of the album?

Chris Brown: New Music!

Well it seems Chris has now shame and the official first single from his upcoming album, "Graffiti" has dropped. The track, titled "I Can Transform Ya" features Lil. Wayne and should impact radio any day now. I haven't taken a listen to the song yet, but you can below. Let me know what you think!

Toni & Trey: Yesterday!

Well, it has been confirmed. Speaking a few days ago, Toni Braxton said she would like to work with label mate Trey Songz for her upcoming album. They have reportedly completed a remix to Toni's first single off her upcoming album, "Yesterday". The remix is said to be produced by Troy Taylor (Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin) and should be released soon. In the meantime, visit Toni Braxton's website to listen to her new single and get more details about her upcoming album.

Shakira: She Wolf Remix!

This is on fire! Here we have a remix to Shakira's "She Wolf" featuring T-Pain. While her vocals haven't been changed, the adding of the kick drum and T-Pain really gives the song a new spark. Listen to the track here and let me know what you think!

Britney Spears: 3!

The official single from Britney Spears's upcoming greatest hits album, "The Singles Collection" has been released. Titled "3" and produced by Max Martin (P!nk, Kelly Clarkson), the track sees Ms. Spears in a very familiar place - pop infused with a bit of dance. The track should see good results on the charts but I'm really not feeling what they've done here. Take a listen to the track below, peep the official artwork above and let me know what you think!

Ciara Readies New Album!

In news that comes as a bit of a shock to me, Ciara is said to be readying a new album. The album would serve as a followup to this year's flop, "Fantasy Ride" and is said to only feature production from The Dream and Tricky Stewart (see Mariah Carey's "Memoirs"). Tricky Stewart also revealed that two songs, "Speechless" feat. The Dream and "Gifted" are his favourites out of the 14 songs recorded so far.

While this must come as exciting news for Ciara fans, I really can't say I'm looking forward to anything new from her at the moment. "Fantasy Ride" was a total mess and she really needs to step up her game in the vocals department if she wants to continue competing with her peers. Are you looking forward to another release from Ciara early next year?

Alicia Keys - The Element of Freedom

It has now been confirmed that Alicia Keys will drop her 4th studio album, "The Element of Freedom" on 1 December. The album is preceded by the first single, "Doesn't Mean Anything" which impacted mainstream radio on 29 September. A second single, "Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart" has already been confirmed and will presumably be released before the album arrives in stores.

This should be another solid release from one of the most undeniably talented individuals in the industry. I'm hoping the second single is something spectacular, because to be honest I'm really not feeling "Anything". What do you think?
