It's all about the numbers!

For any artist, first week sales are incredibly important. Over the past two weeks there have been some major album releases and we now have a few of the results.

Kris Allen - Kris Allen: 80 000

50 Cent - Before I Self Destruct: 160 000

Leona Lewis - Echo: 67 000

John Mayer - Battle Studies: 285 000

With these results, Mayer managed to top the album charts for the second time in his career.

Susan Boyle – I Dreamed A Dream: 600 000

Adam Lambert – For Your Entertainment: 230 000

Lady GaGa – The Fame Monster: 200 000

Rihanna – R-Rated: 180 000

Shakira – She Wolf: 80 000

Who knew Boyle would be an album seller? If she pulls off these numbers, she'll have the biggest first week sales for the entire year! Glambert's antics seemed to have worked in getting him a respectable debut. What albums will you be buying?

New Albums!

I received two new albums in the mail that I had preordered online. They are John Mayer's "Battle Studies" and Leona Lewis's "Echo". Have you purchased the albums? If so, what were your favourite tracks and what did you think about them?

John Mayer: Battle Studies Promo!

The multitalented John Mayer will release his latest studio offering "Battle Studies' on 17 November. The album is preceded by the single, "Who Says" which has already debuted at #17 on the Billboard Hot 100. Mayer sat down with Billboard Magazine to speak about the upcoming project and his growth as an artist over the past few years. Peep the segment below and let me know what you think!

The album has already leaked and much to my own surprise, I haven't downloaded it yet. With Mayer being one of the few male artists that I actually enjoy listening, I have actually pre-ordered the album and I'm expecting my copy next week sometime. It should be one of the few albums that you are able to listen to from start to finish, but I'll let you know! In the meantime, what do you think of the lead single, "Who Says"?
